Protect your investment and avoid high cost replacements or repairs down the road by following these tips below
Furnace Maintenance
Regularly changing the air filter on your furnace is one of the quickest and easiest home maintenance tasks you can perform. The longer you go without replacing your filter the more it becomes clogged with dust and other debris. This causes your furnace to work overtime to maintain the desired temperature, resulting in increased energy consumption and a higher utility bill for you. Basic 1-inch filters like the ones pictured below should be changed every 30 to 90 days. Thicker pleated filters can last quite a bit longer, but still should be changed every 3 to 6 months depending on the manufacturers recommendations. Depending on the air conditions in your home you may not need to change your filters as often as is recommended but you should still be sure to check them regularly - if you check and the filter is visibly dusty or dirty, swap it out!

Water Heater Maintenance
Hot water heaters should be flushed once a year to drain built up sediment and extend the life of the unit. Additionally, the anode rod may need to be replaced periodically in order to prevent corrosion on the inside of the tank.
